I love this photo for so many reasons. 1) Alice walker the love of literary life wrote the book that bred this movie.. one of the first movies I ever saw. 2) it was considered cutting edge because of the lesbian love affair (which was highly downplayed in comparison to the book) but is still beautiful in it’s own budding innocent way. 3) I always related to Celie who struggled with smiling and feeling hers wasn’t good enough. How beautiful it is to have someone pull your hands away and love you.. to proclaim you flawless and you feel so shined down on.. love like the sun.
I love this.. forever and always ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
